To make sure that your skin stays as healthy as possible, this epilator comes with silver ion technology. Don’t ask me how it works; I just know that it does! The ergonomic handle makes it easy and comfortable to use for long periods of time. There’s a dual speed control, which lets you choose how much juice you want in each situation. There’s also no worrying about batteries running out halfway through: plug-in operation means there’s a consistent power level throughout. All in all it’s a fantastic epilator that leaves all other forms of hair removal in the dust.
Pros:
- Covers a Large Area: This machine is designed to take up less of your time than other epilators. I have lots of thick, dark hair, so I’m used to devoting a large part of my beauty routine to hair removal. However, because the Emagine’s staggered heads cover so much area I don’t have to go over each square inch seventeen times, greatly reducing the amount of time I have to spend epilating.
- Dual Speed Control: I love this. There are just some areas you don’t want to approach full force (underarms and bikini line comes to mind…), but going at a slow speed on legs and arms just takes forever. Being able to control the speed with which the epilator moves means I can customize it to each situation. This makes it more comfortable and efficient to use.
- Picks Up Lots of Hairs: In the past I’ve had epilators that seemed to miss every other hair. While you’ll never get every hair removed in one go, I’ve found that the Emagine has a very high success rate. Most of that has to do with the number of tweezers. While 72 tweezers does make the experience a little more, well, uncomfortable, it does leave legs feeling smoother and results in less time spent doing touch-ups.
- Doesn’t Irritate Skin: The people who designed this device put time into making sure your skin looks great afterwards. Ingrown hairs are a common problem of mine when I epilate, but I really haven’t had much of an issue with this device. The same goes for those little red bumps that tend to crop up after hair removal. The problem isn’t solved completely, but again, I have a much higher success rate with this device than others.
Cons:
- No Battery Option: I don’t like having a cord trailing behind me as I epilate, but with the Emagine I don’t have a choice. I understand why it has to be this way, though. It’s a powerful machine, so it would most likely drain a battery pretty fast. Because it’s so powerful I spend less time using it, so I can deal with using the cord for such a short amount of time.
- Makes Some Noise: This isn’t a quiet machine. Depending on your tolerance for noise this may or may not bother you. If you have roommates or family around it may bother them more than you, so keep that in mind.
I’ve seen a lot of epilators in my line of work (I’m a fashion stylist), and I have to say Emjoi Emagine is one of the best. It works quickly and efficiently without causing undue pain. It’s easy to use and I love the dual speed control. It can be used on sensitive where other epilators can’t go. It’s a high quality device that does everything you could hope for. If you’re sick of shaving or dealing with a subpar epilator, it’s definitely time to trade up. I’m glad I did.
